OBJECTIVESJIJA aims to ensure media freedom, ethical standards in media and lobbies for the rights of journalists in these regions, and to defend specific interests and needs of the journalists and media houses.

•Improve working conditions, safety & security of journalists.
•Defend and promote principles and practice of the journalistic profession
•Promote press freedom in JIJA region by defending the rights of journalists to report
news without fear of reprisal in their line of duty.
•Lobby for greater recognition of Journalist freedom of expression without intimidations and threats.
•Enhance access to information for journalists, freelancers and reporters.
•Build the capacity of local media personnel on effective reporting while safeguarding the ethics journalisms.
•Promote impartiality, accurateness, honesty and truthfulness in reporting
•Educate communities on development, environmental impacts and protection methods
